Ogun State government has assured of a continuous cordial relationship with the Association of Retired Primary School Teachers, Ogun State, (ARPOSTOS), as well as prompt payment of monthly pensions to Local Government workers and State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) retirees in the State.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mrs. Irene Afolashade Kokumo, stated this at the formal presentation of the new State Chairman and Executives of the Association to her at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, urging them to support Governor Abiodun’s administration’s ‘Building Our Future Together’ mantra.

She appreciated the Association’s contribution towards the welfare of its members, commending its role during the last screening exercise and admonished the new executives to learn from their predecessors, in order to achieve their set goals.

Earlier in his remarks, the immediate past Chairman, (ARPSTOS), Chief Akinyele Abiodun, lauded the State Government for its people friendly policies, particularly, prompt payment of monthly pensions to retirees in the State, adding that the benevolence he enjoyed from the Bureau in the course of his leadership, was responsible for the success recorded so far and appealed for extension of such support to the new Executives of the Association.

“During my tenure, I enjoyed maximum support from this Bureau and without mincing words, the State Government has performed tremendously well in paying the monthly pension of our members as and when due, and for this, we remain ever grateful’’, he stated.

In his contribution, the new State Chairman of ARPSTOS, Mr. Zacchaeus Adekoya, commended the Bureau for its constant cooperation, pledging the Association’s unalloyed support to the present administration.
